  4. WHAT IT DOES
  5.  
  6. Cookie is an external which will generate a "fortune cookie" on entry into the
  7. door.  Simply set the external to launch on logon or logoff through your BBS
  8. program, and your users will see a fortune.

  10. HOW TO INSTALL
  11.  
  12. Copy Cookie and its accompanying files to a folder, and set up an external
  13. launch command in your BBS program. Run Cookie once locally, and set the option
  14. file path.

  16. If you want to add Fortune Cookie files, simply create a text file with the
  17. fortunes separated by an "@", like the current files (use them as an example).
  18. Then, open "Cookie File" and add the filename on the bottom, and increment the
  19. number on the first line by 1.

  21. ABOUT FORTUNE COOKIES

  23. These Fortune files (except LAWYER.TXT) were taken from a HyperCard program
  24. called "Fortune Cookies" by Dennis C. DeMars, written sometime in 1987. The
  25. original source of the fortunes is (I believe) the Internet, and the UNIX
  26. program "fortune".  LAWYER.TXT was downloaded from a local BBS, and appears to
  27. have been pulled off the Internet too.  I claim no copyright or responsibility
  28. for any of the fortunes, only for the external to display them.

  30. I don't know if a program like this exists already, but I'm unemployed, bored,
  31. and waiting for school to start, so I wrote it anyway.  Enjoy!
